FORMATION OF MUSIC CLASS ELECTION OF OFFICERS It has been decided to form-a singing class at Waikaka under the tuition of Mr J. Simpson, music tutor, who is conducting classes this year under a scheme for adult education, the work being organized by the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mr Simpson outlined his plan of work for the year and gave an address on the value of music as an educational factor and as a way of employing the greater amount of leisure nowadays. It was decided that there was still room for more pupils in the class which meets weekly. The following office-bearers were appointed: Patron, the Rev. J. Badcock; president, Mrs A. Styles; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames McDonald and Rennie and Mr R. Gardyne; secretary, Miss K. McQueen; treasurer, Mrs R. Aitken; auditors, Messrs Gardyne and Badcock; general committee, Mesdames S. Black and G. Mclntosh, Misses M. Asher and A. Black and Mr C. Kerse; music committee, Mrs McDonald and Mr W. Rees; librarians, Misses M. Rees and J. Ladbrook; accompanists, Mesdames McDonald, A. McQueen, A. Rennie, A. Styles and G. Mclntosh, and Misses A. Black, M. Rees, K. McQueen and Mr W. Rees.
