DEPUTATION WAITS ON MINISTER
(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 20. A private deputation from the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand waited on the Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) today and discussed with him various matters arising out of the recent annual conference of the association. The deputation was headed by the president, Mr W., F. Mac Gibbon, of Christchurch. The subjects discussed included defence, the monetary system and the Reserve Bank, the cost erf public works, measures for securing maximum primary modification of the import licensing system, the hospital rate in relation to Social Security and the scheme for the trans-Tasman air service.
Mr Nash indicated the Government policy on certain of these matters and undertook that the others would be considered.
