YOUNG CYCLIST KILLED
Boy Knocked Down By Motor-Car DEATH FROM HEAD INJURIES Francis James Miller, aged nine years, of 85 Jed street, was knocked down by a motor-car at the intersection of Yarrow and Doon streets about 5.30 yesterday afternoon and died soon after.
The boy was cycling south along Doon street when he collided at the Yarrow street corner with a car driven by James Henry Jackson, of Yarrow street, and was knocked down. He suffered extensive head injuries and was taken to a nearby house. Dr W. J. Barclay was called and attended the boy, who died before reaching hospital. A pupil st the Middle school, the boy was the son of Mr and Mrs J. P. Miller. The police are seeking information from any person who saw the accident. MARRIED MAN FOUND DEAD GAS HEATER - TURNED ON (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, February 10. Francis Bernard Francis, a married man aged 50, of Land Sales Ltd., was found dead on the business premises at 9.30 last night with a gas heater turned on. He had apparently been dead since the afternoon. BOY’S TOE SEVERED Robert Armstrong, aged 12 years, of Half Moon Bay, Stewart Island, was admitted to the Dee street hospital on Saturday with the big toe of his left foot severed. He was chopping wood when the axetstruck his foot. His condition last night was satisfactory.
