Advice has been received from Pitman’s Examinations Department, Melbourne, that at the annual examinations held in December, the following pupils of the Soutland Shorthand School (Miss A. O. Giller) were successful: 160 words a minute: Mrs Dryden. 150 words a minute: Mrs Dryden. 130 words a minute: Miss Gwen Lewis, Miss Molly Thomson. 120 words a minute: Miss Faye Hinchey, Miss Juliet Loughnan, Miss Betty Moorhouse, Miss Molly O’Sullivan, Miss Pat Snow.
110 words a minute: Miss Beth Grieve, Miss Phyllis Hall, Miss Ella McCallum, Miss Alma Mitchell, Miss Doreen Thomson. 100 words a minute: Miss Vailele Agnew, Miss Alma Mitchell, Miss Betty Paterson. 90 words a minute: Miss Beulah Beadle, Miss Jean Bell, Miss Mavis Brown, Miss Maidie Cook, Miss Daisy Dunlop, Miss Sheila Ferguson, Miss Marjorie Fortune, Miss Jean Herbison, Miss Winifred Mitchell, Miss Joan Newth, Miss Daphne Ramsay, Miss Brenda Shepherd, Miss Naomi Stirling. 80 words a minute: Miss Rita Derbie, Miss Margaret Hyndman, Miss Mary Ronald, Miss Eileen Scully, Miss Audrey Spencer, Miss Margaret Ward. 70 words a minute: Miss Ruth Adam, Miss Constance Barker, Miss Aileen Drury, Miss Edna English, Miss Rae Gunn, Miss Iris Irwin, Miss Mary Ronald, Miss Menial Webb. 60 words a minute: Miss Leonie Galt, Miss Yvonne McGaw. 50 words a minute: Miss Joyce Halligan, Miss Hilda Schofield.
