MOVE FOR RECALLING OF PARLIAMENT
URGENT REQUEST MADE BY OPPOSITION WELLINGTON, December 19. An urgent request that Parliament should be called together on the return of the Hon. P. Fraser from the Empire talks at London is contained in a letter forwarded to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) by the Leader of the Opposition (the Hon. Adam Hamilton). “The importance of the occasion and the issues at stake justify a sitting,” states Mr Hamilton. He suggests that it would be of considerable national advantage to have a session at which the war organization could be discussed in the light of Mr Fraser’s discussions and experiences abroad. Such a course would be appreciated not only by the Opposition, which had no access to the counsels of the Government in its war effort, but also of great interest and value in making the public more aware of what is going on and what would be required.
