SHEPHERD FOUND DROWNED
FATALITY AT GREENVALE
Ernest McGregor Liddicoat, aged 26, a shepherd employed by Mr Frank Henderson, farmer, of Greenvale, was found drowned by Mr Henderson in a water hole on the latter’s farm yesterday. • It is understood that Liddicoat went out at 9 a.m. to go round the sheep and when he did not return at 12.30 p.m. Mr Henderson went to look for him, finding the body in the water hole. There were marks on Liddicoat’s head and it is thought that he dived into the hole, which was about - eight feet deep, and struck his head on the rocky bottom.
An inquest was opened before the district coroner, Mr A. T. Newman, at Greenvale last night and after eivdence of identification had been given, it was adjourned sine die.
