THE WEATHER
Fair to Fine and Warm (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, December 19. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington: Light to fresh northerly winds prevailing. Some morning fogs, possibly with a little scattered light drizzle, are probable but weather otherwise fair to fine and warm. Sea slight. Following is the Dominion forecast: •Mostly fair to fine and warm, some morning fogs are probable, however, possibly with some scattered light drizzle. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers the New Zealand area. Winds.—Light to moderate and variable with sea breezes in coastal areas. Seas.—New Zealand waters, slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea, light and variable winds and slight seas in the central and northern portions, moderate to fresh northerly winds and moderate seas in the southern portion. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine and warm. At one o'clock this morning th® weather was cold. The sky was overcast, and a strong wind was blowing from the west. ■ The barometer readings for this morning, Tuesday and Monday have been:— This morning (falling) 29.86 in. Tuesday 30.08 in. Monday 30.04 in.
