GREAT SELECTION AT NOBLES Gifts for all are to be found in profusion at the Invercargill Gift Store, which is the name bestowed upon Noble’s fancy goods, toys and stationery shop in Dee street. It would greatly assist in the solution of the Christmas gift problem if buyers just went to Noble’s for their requirements because a completely adequate selection of gifts for men, women and children is in stock to suit all tastes. Noble’s have been supplying the citizens of Southland with the best type of Christmas and New Year gifts for more than 30 years and the store is even more heavily stocked than in the past and with possibly a greater variety of articles. One point on which this firm is particularly insistent is that out-of-date or shabby stuff must not be stocked because the high reputation of the business would be besmirched by such goods. For this reason the Gift Store on the east side of Dee street has been thronged during recent weeks by eager shoppers who have fully appreciated the admirable selection of goods. Preparations were made for a huge volume of business this Christmas and as goods are sold others are brought in to take their place so that shoppers need not fear that they will be able to find only the residue after the very best has been sold. Once again the firm appears to have outstripped most others in the novelty

of novelties. There is a bewildering variety of mechanical toys for selection and any would gladden the heart of all boys. The variety and ingenuity of these articles is astonishing and many children will receive the thrill of their lifetime when they extract from their stockings on Christmas morning gifts bought at Noble’s. A new name of “The Dolls’ House” might also be given to the store because it is carrying a collection of more than 1000 dolls, believed to be the bigbest consignment ever bought into Invercargill. No girl could fail to receive the greatest joy from these dolls which are lifelike in their design. These articles are all a delight to juvenile eyes and they have been selected with the utmost consideration for modern tastes and modern purses. While not one article so commonly described as “rubbish” is included in the magnificent selection of gifts, all of them are very reasonably priced for such excellent quality and really handsome articles are within the reach of all. It should not be thought that there is not a great deal besides children’s gifts in the store for women’s and men’s gifts are in abundance. The fancy section of Noble’s is just as attractive as any of the other departments and anyone in search of the latest style handbag in the finest leathers and materials cannot possibly go past without considering the proposition. Manicure sets,

dressing table xylonite requirements and everything that goes with My Lady’s toilet is there. Nothing seems to be missing in this department. The Christmas needs of the men have not been overlooked. Pocket wallets, military brushes, shaving sets, smokers’ sets and collar boxes make admirable presents for men and the selection of these is both big and extremely attractive. The Christmas season provides an excellent opportunity for citizens to increase the resources of their homes by adding some new articles, either ornamental or useful. Among these there is an excellent selection of all classes; ornamental vases, art figures, water sets, tea sets, dinner sets, cutlery. There is a full range of clocks from the small bedroom type at 4/11 to handsome chiming clocks at up to £B. Other needs at this season are Christmas cards and calendars and diaries and all can be supplied at the Gift Store.
