AIR CRASH IN SYDNEY
Five Members Of Crew Killed PLANE WRECKED COMPLETELY (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Received December 18, 7.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 18. Five men -were killed instantly -when an Australian Air Force Avro Anson aeroplane crashed on the Richmond golf course today, two minutes after it had taken off on a cross-country flight to Point Cook, Victoria. The machine was completey wrecked. The dead are: Flight-Lieutenant Arthur Watkins, of Sydney. Flight-Lieutenant Hugh Horner, of Sydney. Flying-Officer Henry Fitzgerald, of Melbourne. Flying-Officer Malcolm Mclnnes, of Melbourne. Aircraftsman Leonard King, of Brisbane. DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS BURIED 5000 WOMEN AND CHILDREN PRESENT HOLLYWOOD, December 17. Five thousand women and children stood in a roped-off ,area at the funeral of Douglas Fairbanks, sen. Charlie Chaplin was a pall-bearer. Tom Mix wore a black cowboy outfit. The casket was placed alongside that of Will Rogers in a temporary vault. Douglas Fairbanks, jun., escorted the widow (formerly Lady Ashley), who collapsed. Mary Pickford did not attend the funeral. She - said she preferred to remember Fairbanks as the lively spirit I knew in life.”
