EASTERN SOUTHLAND MATCHES WAIKOIKOI DEFEATED BY TAPANUI Playing in an Eastern Southland cricket match, Tapanui defeated Waikoikoi by 18 runs in a low scoring game. Tapanui batted first for a total of 83, the highest scorers being Rodger (16), Mills (23) and McFeeters (14J. G. McCall and McDonald were the most successful Waikoikoi bowlers, each taking three wickets The Waikoikoi batsmen compiled 65, McDonald (17) and P. Nelson College beat New Plymouth High School by an innings and 66 runs. New Plymouth High School in its first innings made 146 runs and in its second made 84 runs. Nelson made 297 for six wickets declared.
