The Naval Board regrets to announce the following casualties on H.M.S. (S.S.) 1734, 44 Cavell street, Tainui, Dunedin. Seriously Wounded Edgar Vivian Sherley, able seaman, N.Z.D. 1163, Roche street, Te Awamutu. Lincoln Campbell Martinson, chief yeoman of. signals, N.Z.D. 345, *2 St. Aubyns street, Devonport, Auckland. ROYAL NAVY Killed Frank Stennett, telegraphist, 120 Old Mill Lane, Hazel Grove, Stockfort, . Cheshire, England. ' Seriously Wounded Samuel John Trimble, Sergeant of Royal Marines, P.0./22189, 11 Hill View Park, Glengormley, Belfast t PRAISE BY PRESIDENT OF NAVY LEAGUE “GALLANT ACTION IN SOUTH ATLANTIC” (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 16. The president of the New Zealand Navy League (Mr J. S. Ross, of Dunedin), sent the following message to the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) on Saturday: “The New Zealand Navy League and its branches congratulate the officers and the ship’s company of the Achilles for the gallant action in the South Atlantic.”
