THE NEXT PEACE
To The Editor Sir,— Why, oh why, does your correspondent, J. P. Dakin, dissipate his eVident talent in holding post-mortems on past wars? It is so easy to be wise after events, especially to condemn, and moralize about the last peace in the light of present-day mentality. It is perfectly evident that when the next peace is concluded the Allies will have to take that peace as seriously as the war they are at present engaged in, and must not ignore the .factors that led up to it. Now if your erudite correspondent would briefly outline the form the next peace should take to satisfy all parties and put an end to, or even substantially delay, the murderous megalomaniacal machinations of the dictators, I think he would contribute something advantageous to our destiny. —Yours, etc., YOGI. December 14, 1939. (Other correspondence has been held over because of pressure on space.)
