BIG LOSS OF LIFE.— It is feared that more than 700, including women and children were lost in the sinking of the Russian steamer Indigirka off Hokkaido. There were 1100 aboard, mostly fishermen and their families. The Indigirka was formerly the Commercial Quaker. She was sold by the United States in 1938 to Russia. (Tokyo.)
