ANGLICAN LADIES’ GUILD A meeting of the Anglican Ladies’ Guild was held recently. Mrs T. Lush presided and the members present were: Mesdames W. West, J. Hood, J. Shaw, D. R. McTaggart, R. Humphries Misses I. Shaw and H. Butler (secretary). A report on the table tennis tournaments conducted by the guild, showed that the takings had been very satisfactory. Thanks were extended to all who helped to make the evenings so successful. . The forthcoming cake and apron tair was discussed, and it was set down tor early in December. PLUNKET SOCIETY Mrs R. T. Wilson presided at the monthly meeting of the Balfour subbranch of the Plunket Society. Those present were: Mesdames J. Hood, Cr. Grant, P. W. McDonald, A. C. Witting, A. Elder, D. McDonald (secretary) and Miss Martin. A report on the recent childrens fancy dress party was submitted by the secretary and was considered to be very satisfactory. The president thanked all those who had helped to make the function a success. A report on the recent executive meeting at Lumsden was also given. As this was the last meeting/for the year the president extended Christmas greetings to members. Mrs Hood, on behalf of members, acknowledged the president’s compliments, and presented the president and secretary with a dress spray each. -
