ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE PREDICTED
Eastern District Stock In Good Condition KEEN COMPETITION EXPECTED IN MOST CLASSES The Gore Agricultural and Pastoral Association presents one of the best-balanced shows in the province, and favoured with fine weather, this year’s fixture, which opens tomorrow, promises to uphold the association’s fine record of successes. Although the entries are not as large as the entries for last year’s show, this being chiefly due to the fact that the .Royal .Centennial'Show is being held at Invercargill next week, for which some exhibitors are reserving their stock, competition will be keen in most sections. The association has established itself in popular favour during the last 59 years and it has the reputation of conducting one of the best country shows in the Dominion. It is regarded as a true reflection of the stock-raising activities of the district. It has a big fertile district, in which sheep, cattle and horse- ' breeding are carried on extensively, to draw on and the breeders have enjoyed a great measure of success for many years. During the last month there has been a rapid growth of feed and the stock throughout the district is in. exceptionally good condition at the present time. Show ring preparations which have been made recently should ensure that the stock is shown to the best advantage.
