HERIOT At the monthly meeting of the Heriot Women’s Institute, the motto was: “Action is the essence of life, to rest is to rust.’’ Miss Mihnine demonstrated felt work, showing how to make articles out of felt. She had on view some very nice pieces of her own work. Mrs C. Sim won the competition “Song Titles,” Mrs Sharp, best bloom competition and Mrs C. Sim the competition for six savouries, three varieties.
The December meeting will take the form of a “Mad Hatter” Christmas party for the children.
