AUSTRALIAN IMPORT RESTRICTIONS
OTTAWA, November 30.
The Australian import restrictions are likely to drastically reduce AustralianCanadian trade, possibly by half. It is believed that it will be difficult to restrict Canada’s exports the full onesixth contemplated since several are essential commodities best obtainable in Canada, including timber, newsprint and motor-car chassis.
Officials' decline to comment whether the restrictions violate the AustralianCanadian Trade Pact.
