For weeks on end John and David Burke, with their father and his native bearers, had forced their way through the steaming Peruvian jungle in search of the famous treasure of the Incas. They discovered the ruins of a temple but could find no treasure. Then, one day, as hope was beginning to fade, Pedro, one of the bearers, came to the boys with exciting pews. He led them to the ruins and showed them an iron ring in the floor. As they pulled a stone slab lifted, revealing golden goblets and jewellery. Part of the Incas’ treasure had been found at last! Hidden in the picture are the boys’ father, a canoe, a native bearer, and two golden goblets
