LITTLE DAMAGE TO AIRPORT
Two Soviet Planes Shot Down RED FLEET ACTIVE IN BALTIC (By Radio) LONDON, November 30. Fighting in Karelia is still going on. Soviet artillery is active. The Finnish Defence Department announces that only small bombs were dropped in the raid on the Helsinki airport and that very little damage was done. It is claimed that two Soviet aeroplanes have been shot down in the vicinity of Helsinki. The Soviet Baltic fleet left its base at Krondstadt and is reported to have occupied important islands in the Gulf of Finland. There is evidence that the Soviet took definite steps to delay the arrival of the Finnish reply in Moscow. This points to a prearranged plan to attack before the Gulf of Finland froze over.
