RIFLE SHOOTING Members of the Mataura Defence Rifle Club fired a shoot over the 300 and 500 yard ranges for a one-day trophy to also count in the championship. The sky was overcast with a moderately strong wind from the east. W. T. Webb was in fine form and scored a possible. Results: — Yds. Yds.
ANGLING The Mataura Angling Club held its second monthly competition recently, the conditions being any stream, and any legal bait. W. Bromley, a youthful angler, was the winner with 16 fish weighing 261 b 14oz. In the novice competition W. Hannah secured first place with eight fish weighing 81b. Results.—W. A.
