CURTAILMENT OF AIR SERVICES

COOK STRAIT AND UNION COMPANIES

(United Press Association)

WELLINGTON, November 29. Mainly because of the calling up of a number of Union Airways and Cook Strait Airways pilots, in addition to the taking over earlier of a number of machines operated by both companies, the commercial air services operated on the trunk routes in New Zealand are to be further curtailed early next month.

From December 2 the Union Airways service between Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin, now being maintained daily each way, will be reduced to three times a week with no services on Sundays. As at present the south-bound machine will call at New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington and Christchurch and similar calls will be made by the north-bound machines. The present schedule observed by the daily Auckland-Dunedin service will be adhered to.
