The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones), who has been visiting Dunedin, left for the north yesterday. He will visit Burnham military camp this morning and Wigram Aerodrome this afternoon. Mr N. J. Dolamore, of Rotorua, formerly Conservator of-State Forests in Southland, arrived in Invercargill by the express on Saturday afternoon. Mr W. G, Tait was presented at the annual smoke concert of the Queen’s Park Golf Club on Saturday night with an enlarged, framed and inscribed portrait of himself. The presentation was made by the president, (Mr G. R. Milward), who said the club wished to honour Mr Tait for the executive service he had given, as vice-president for two years and as president for 10 years. Mr Tait replied. The portrait will be hung in the club-house. Mr A. C. E. Broad has been appointed Deputy Registrar of Marriages and Births and Deaths at Otautau, according to The New Zealand Gazette.
