This form points to Siege Gun being much above the average. Night Nurse Night Nurse is able to boast more on the score of breeding than most, but as a six-year-old now she has not made much progress. She is a half-sister by Wellington Direct to Sure, Probationer, Salalon and Chevalier. To Arrive Next Week Lawn Derby is expected to arrive at Addington next week, and is already one of the favourites for the Trotting Cup. With a record of better than two minutes for a mile, and having proved himself a real stayer, the Aus-

tralian pacer is regarded in Christchurch as one of the hardest horses to beat. When he won in Auckland nearly two years ago he registered 4min 17 3-ssec, and defeated Lucky Jack, to whom he conceded 24 yards, by half a head. In the Cup he will meet Lucky Jack on 12 yards better terms.

May Not Race Again It is doubtful if Stamboul will race again. The promising half-brother to Wrackler fell in a race at Forbury last season and received severe injuiies. At the time it was thought that he would have to be destroyed but he made a remarkable recovery, and his trainer hoped he would stand another preparation, but when recently placed in work his injured leg showed definite signs of stiffness.
