GIFT EVENING AT GORGE ROAD
MISS R. KEVERN HONOURED
On Tuesday evening, in the Gorge Road hall, the friends of Miss Rachel Kevern and residents of the district entertained her at a gift evening in honour of her approaching marriage. The evening was spent in dancing. Mr P. Beck was master of ceremonies. During supper Mr T. P. Beck expressed pleasure at seeing such a large attendance and asked Miss Kevem to accept a number of gifts from her many friends present, and wished her every happiness in her married life. Mr A. E. Millard, representing the Gorge Road Hockey Club, spoke of Miss Kevem’s good play on the hockey field. In the absence of Mr Chisholm, Miss Kevern replied. Among those present were Mr and Mrs A.
