Official Declaration In

Berlin

“TIME FOR NEGOTIATION

NOW PAST”

Britain was relying on the United States’s support, but, he said, the United States could end the war if unequivocally she told Britain that she would not support her, unless efforts were made first to reach a settlement at the council table. Dr Dietrich said that Germany had hitherto not attempted to display her air prowess in the west. He recalled that in an attack on the Polish city Modlin, 800 powerdiving bombers were unleashed.

He added: “A similar number operating against British ships would do untold damage.’
