Uniform For Australian Basketballers

The Australian women’s basketball team to visit New Zealand next April will be required to wear, “at the discretion of the manager,” a travelling uniform of a grey skirt and ’ shirt blouse, green tie, blazer and pullover, grey felt hat and brown shoes, gloves and bag. This is the first time a rule for dress has been made for a women’s sporting teom, touring outside Australia, apart from the uniform worn for play. The contract to be signed by each player requires the girls to observe the ordinary rules of training and diet. To ensure a thorough knowledge of the rules, each player will do an examination paper set by the All-Australia Umpires’ Committee. The team will assemble in Sydney on March 8 for preliminary training.

The tour of New Zealand will last at least a month.
