LEG BROKEN IN FALL
While carrying a bag of cement, Vernon George Jenkins, aged 34 years, of Section I, Otahuti R.D., fell and broke his leg. He was admitted to the Southland Hospital yesterday afternoon and his condition last night was satisfactory.
WOMAN BELIEVED TO BE DROWNED Mrs D. Fraser, sen., widow of Mr David Fraser, of Tuapeka Mouth, disappeared from the home of a daughter (Mrs Geddes) at Clydevale about 6 o’clock on Sunday morning, and is believed to have been drowned in the Molyneux River. She had been ill lately, and had spent a fortnight at the Balclutha Hospital. Portion of the deceased’s night clothing was found on a small footbridge spanning a gully in
the vicinity of the bank of the big river. The missing woman, whose age is about 65, has a number of relations in the district. Mr D. Fraser, the wellknown farmer of Awamangu, is a son of Mrs Fraser. Dragging operations were in progress in the river at Clydevale yesterday.
