(Union Steam Ship Co.). WAINUI, due at Bluff from Wellington on October 24 and sails the same day for Dunedin and northern ports. (Union Steam Ship Co.). FOOD FOR GERMAN SHIP The M.A.N.Z. Line motor-ship Port Halifax on her arrival at Boston from Auckland on September 27 moored near the German steamer Pauline Friedrich, which had put into port at the outbreak of war to avoid capture. Learning that the German crew were short of food, the master of the Port Halifax, Captain A. A. Cooper, remarked: “Germans or not, they have to eat.” He presented the crew with a side of beef, which was gratefully received. GENERAL NOTES H. L. Tapley and Company advise that the motor-vessel Storm is scheduled to load at Wellington on Friday and is due to arrive at Bluff on October 16. Accepting cargo for all northern ports, she will sail the same day for Dunedin. OTHER PORTS AUCKLAND, October 10. To arrive: Karepo 7 p.m. from Westport. WELLINGTON, October 10. Arrived: Port Waikato from Auckland; Kiwitea from Auckland. Sailed: Pakura for Napiei. LYTTELTON, October 10. Arrived: Holmdale 5 a.m. from Timaru; Storm 5.40 a.m. from Timaru; Waiana 1.30 p.m. from Wellington. Sailed: Holmdale 3.20 p.m. for Wellington; Storm 4 p.m. for Wellington. DUNEDIN, October 10.
