MONEY PAID UNDER WILL

WIDOW’S APPEAL SUCCEEDS (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 10. The Court of Appeal has delivered its judgment, allowing the appeal of Eliza Annie Wright, of Longburn, a widow, brought by her on October 3 from the order of Mr Justice Ostler, made at Palmerston North on September 11, under the Family Protection Act, increasing tile amount payable under the will of George Francis Wright, late oi Longburn, farmer, to his son, Stanley Llewellyn Wright, from £lOOO to £2500.

The Court held that, taking all the facts into consideration, including the value of the estate which Mr Justice Ostler had over-estimated, it was impossible to say that testator in leaving his son only £lOOO had failed in the moral duty he owed him. All questions of costs were reserved for further consideration.
