CRICKET CLUB’S OPENING There was a good attendance for the opening of, the Lumsden Cricket Club for the season, when a match was played against the Lumsden Returned Soldiers’ Association, resulting in a win for the cricket club by 98 runs to 75. The highest score for the Returned Soldiers’ Association team was secured by F. Crosbie, who made 27 runs and also took five wickets for 32 ruris. L. Richards, of the cricket club team, made 32 runs and took four wickets for 7 runs. Afternoon tea was supplied by the women members. Mr A. Heath thanked the members of the cricket club for the enjoyable game and wished them every success. The following are the scores:— R.S.A.
