MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION LEGISLATION

(From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, September 13. Provision for the incorporation of the Municipal Association of New Zealand is contained in the Municipal Association Bill, which was introduced by Governor-General’s Message in the House of Representatives. The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry), who was in charge of the Bill, explained that the Act of 1932 gave no power to the association to make its own rules. It was found easier to bring in a new Bill than to amend the old one. The Bill was read a first time.
