MEN’S HOCKEY

TEAMS TO PLAY OTAGO ON SATURDAY The Southland senior and junior men’s hockey teams, which will travel to Dunedin to play the annual return matches against Otago teams on Saturday, September 16, are as follows:— Senior: H. Gray, E. Mullen, O. B. Dey, L Speirs, H. Rennick, I. Campbell, H. Semmens, D. White (captain), WBarraclough, K. Lythgoe, N. Jones. Reserves: D. Hardcastle and I. Walker. T. Hennessey, N. Poole and S. Hunt were not available. Junior: L. Anderson, F. Sanson, H. Poole (captain), C. Gray, E. Booth, B. Lowe, V. McMillan, C. Martin, E. Stewart, N. Speirs, G. Fredric. Reserves: P. Semmens and R. Ritchie.

Any player not available rtiust notify the secretary (Mr K. Lythgoe) immediately. The teams leave on Saturday morning’s express and return on Sunday night.. Mr J. D. Gregg will accompany the teams as manager and Mr Gordon Hope has been appointed manager of the school boys’ team.

RUGBY_LEAGUE NO MATCHES~IN ENGLAND LONDON, September 11. The Manchester Rugby League Council has decided that no fobtball or competitive cup ties will be played. The -New Zealand tour will finish immediately.
