TRAMWAY REVENUE HIGHER
MORE PASSENGERS CARRIED IN JULY An increase of £33 was shown in the Invercargill tramway revenue during July compared with the same month of the previous year, according to a report presented to the City Council last night. The number of passengers carried was 214,527 compared with 206,870 in the same month of last year. The number of car miles travelled increased from 31,820 to 32,387 miles. The passengers carried for each mile was 6.62 against 6.50 and the revenue for each car mile was 12.7 d compared with 12.69 d last year. For the first four months of the financial year the revenue totalled £6736/9/6 against £6656/17/4 last year.
