WOMEN’S DIVISION ACTIVITY

BALL HELD AT RIVERTON One of the most successful balls of the season at Riverton was the dance held under the auspices of the Riverton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. There was an excellent attendance, and the function was an outstanding success both socially and financially. The Empire Theatre was decorated with streamers of the branch, and a big women’s division badge was prominently featured. A supper extra was played by Mr K. Fraser (Ermedale) and Messrs J. Stirling (Riverton) and D. Hopcroft (Otaitai Bush) were the masters of ceremonies. During the evening, several novelty dances were held, the winners of which were as follows: Balloon dance, Miss N. Robertson and Mr S. Kirkpatrick; statue dance, Miss Lil Burr, and Mr F. Collis; “first on floor” competition, Miss P. MacDougall and Mr P. Eccleton, jun. ... a Among those present were Miss A. E.
