PAN-AMERICAN AIRWAYS

EAKLY RESUMPTION OF N.Z. SERVICE INDICATED (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 9. Evidence that the plans for resumption of the Pan-American Airways service from San-. Francisco to New Zealand are nearing fruition is supplied by the arrival in the Monterey today of three officials—Messrs Don Walker, A. J. Swesey, and H. L. Walsh. Mr Walker, who is accompanied by his wife and daughter, has been appointed airport manager at Auckland and flight relief officer for Pan-Ameri-can operations south of Canton Island. Mr Swesey will be chief mechanic at Auckland, and Mr Walsh communications department agent in charge of the wireless station. Mr Walker was formerly airport manager at Wake and Midway Islands, and Treasure Island, San Francisco. Mr Harold Gatty, Pan-American representative in New Zealand, who met the party, told an interviewer that he had no definite word regarding the date of resumption of the service.
