PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES BECOMES HOST TO THE KING AND QUEEN.—King George and Queen Elizabeth began their brief visit to the United States this week, and on Thursday they reached the capital, Washington. The Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, welcomed their Majesties at Niagara Falls, and Mr and Mrs Roosevelt will be hosts to the Royal visitors during their stay at the White House (left). At right is an aerial view of the British Embassy and grounds, where their Majesties will attend a garden party and give a dinner in honour of Mr and Mrs Roosevelt.
