Henderson and their family motored to Stirling to attend the golden wedding of Mr Henderson’s parents. Guests from as far as North Otago were present, including 15 grandchildren. The couple were presented with a chiming clock from the family, Mr J. Henderson making the presentation. A grand double-victory tennis ball was held in the Mataurc Island hall on Wednesday evening. The dance was a success socially and financially, there being a large crowd of dance patrons. Supper extras were played by Miss I. Drysdale (Seaward Downs) and Mr John Halliday (Kamahi). The statue dance was won by Mr J. Halliday and Miss Phyllis Rule (Mataura Island), the Monte Carlo by Mr Brash and Miss Thomson, and the luck}' spot by Mr A. Stewart (Menzies Ferry) and Miss Joyce Crosbie (Seaward Downs). Messrs G. Baird and T. Peterson were masters of ceremonies.
