Mrs James Grant, Bayswater, has returned from a visit to Dunedin. Mrs S. Arthur, Blenheim, is the guest of her sister, Mrs W. Kennedy, Thomson street.

Miss M. Lousley, Don street, is the guest of Mrs Garfield Crawford at The Rocks, Riverton.

Miss W. Hannan, who has been on holiday in the North Island for several months, has returned to Southland. Miss Barbara Macdonald, Avenal, and Miss Margaret Macalister, Wellesley avenue, are motoring home from Dunedin today.

Mr and Mrs Stewart Faulks, Pembroke, arrive tonight to spend the week-end with Mrs W. Kennedy, Thomson street.

Madame Winnie Fraser who has made an extensive tour abroad, returned to New Zealand yesterday by the Rotorua.

Mr and Mrs E. C. Giller, Mossburn have returned home after a five weeks’ holiday in Rotorua and Hamilton. MiSs Anne Giller has remained in Hamilton. Miss M. Donnelly and Miss M. Mellor, who have been spending a holiday in

Southland as the guests of Mr and Mrs T. McGoldrick, Jackson street, returned this week to Central Otago.

The St. Mary’s Bridge Club held its opening night on Tuesday in St. Marys hall. In spite of the inclemency of the weather there were fifteen tables at play. The prizes given by Mrs J. Holloway were won by the following: Contract, Mr Fitzgerald; auction, Miss Mary Searle; hidden number, the Rev. Father Sexton. ,
