FIRM MARKET FOR INDUSTRIALS ON INVERCARGILL EXCHANGE

Steady inquiry came for Government 4 per cent, issues on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday morning. Banking shares remained quiet. Commercials had buyers at 15/10 and E.S. and A. banks were at £5 5/-. Australian industrials were firm, Woolworths, Broken Hill Proprietaries and Tobaccos, all being very steady in price. Among New Zealand issues, New Zealand Breweries were a shade firmer with buyers at £1 17/3. McKenzies, Ltd., moved up to £2 3/6. The market for metal companies shares was a firmer one.
