PAIRS COMPETITION AT GORE HOKONUI PLAYERS’ SUCCESS The Gore and Hokonui Bowling Clubs held a pairs competition match on their greens at Gore on Saturday afternoon. Twentyseven pairs took part and there was some keen competition. The final, was played on the Hokonui green in the evening between a Hokonui pair (M. Campbell and A. Wallis) and a Gore pair (W. G. Wilson and L. Brown), the Hokonui pair winning by 20 points to 18. The competition was well conducted and section play was finished up to time. Mr F. G. Parsons was the umpire on the Hokonui green and Mr D. Taylor was the umpire on the Gore green. At the end of play the winning players were presented with cups by the president of the Hokonui Club (Mr W. S. Muir) and the runners-up were presented with cups by the president of the Gore Club (Mr T. J. Columb). Results are as follows:— GORE GREEN Section A
