PRAISE FOR STAFF

OFFICERS OF PENSIONS DEPARTMENT (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 31. Ministerial administration of the Pensions Department passed today from the Hon. W. E. Parry to the Hon. W. Nash as the result of the bringing into effect of the social security legislation. Mr Parry today paid a tribute to the staff with which he had been connected since 1935.

The spirit of Parliament’s amending pensions legislation seemed to be inculcated in the officers, Mr Parry said, and any amount of extra work thrust upon them did not in any way cause a slackening of heartening effort to meet it. The Minister mentioned that he had many letters from the public eulogizing the work and general helpfulness of his officers.
