POULTRY PRODUCERS DRAW GOVERNMENT’S NOTICE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 30. , The Poultry Producers’ Federation l Conference resolved to call the Government’s attention to the fact that the Bay of Plenty district, which was formerly cultivated for maize, was now non-productive, except for ragwort, because of wages on public works and the sustenance paid to Maoris who formerly worked on the land. A remit was adopted asking the Government to hand back to the industry the profits it was making on Australian feed wheat and barley and Java maize, of which it was the sole importer, instead of passing such profits on to the Consolidated Fund.
