A New Zealand standard of 130 ft was set for the junior javelin championship at Auckland, but the winner, R. McKenzie, of Otago, threw the spear 175 ft 3£in. I. R. Muirson, of Invercargill, was second with a throw of 157 ft 4in and Gribben (Hawke’s Bay) was third with 147 ft 9Jin. All three exceeded their previous best efforts.
