WAIAU COMPETITION MATCHES SUCCESS OF ORAWIA Following are the results of matches played in the Waiau Tennis Association’s competition:— PAHIA V. OREPUKI Playing at Pahia, the Pahia team was beaten by the Orepuki team by eleven sets and 87 games to five sets and 68 games. Following are the results, with Pahia names mentioned first:—

ORAWIA V. PAPATOTARA

Playing at. Papatotara, the Papatotara A team was beaten by the Orawia A team by 10 sets and 84 games, to six sets and 71 games. Orawia retains its unbeaten record and wins the Pickering Cup as winner of the A grade competition for the 1938-9 season.

PUKEMAOKI V. PAPATOTARA B Playing at Clifden, the Pukemaori team beat the Papatotara B team by 13 sets and 84 games to three sets and 59 games. Both these teams were equal at the completion of the B grade competition and this match was the playoff. Pukemaori now wins the Pickering Cup as winner of the B grade competition.
