CROQUET
GORE WINS ROSE BOWL
The inter-club croquet competition for the rose bowl resulted in a tie between Gore juniors and Southend juniors. The play-off on Rugby Park lawns last week resulted in a. win for Southend by five games to four. Scores, with Southend names first, are:—
Doubles.—Mrs Clark and Miss Stead lost to Mesdames Murray and O’Neill, 12-26; Mesdames Wilson and Shiels beat Mesdames Neale and Trussler, 26-23; Miss Boyce and Mrs Lawless beat Mes-' dames Crawford and Brehaut, 26-15. Singles.—Mrs Clark lost to Mrs Murray, 6-26; Miss Stead lost to Mrs O’Neill, 9-26; Mrs Wilson lost to Mrs Neale, 11-26; Mrs Shiels beat Mrs Trussler, 26-16; Miss Boyce beat Mrs Crawford, 26-4; Mrs Lawless beat Mrs Brehaut, 26-15
