Some Morning Fogs (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, March 16. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland by the meteorological office, Wellington: v Winds turning to light to moderate south-westerlies to south-easterlies. Weather for the most part fair, but with some morning fogs and scattered light showers or drizzling rain, more especially in coastal areas. Seas slight to moderate. Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather mainly fair to fine, but morning fog in places. Later a few showers probable in western ana tar southern districts of the South Island. Temperatures mild. General situation—Pressure remains high over the New Zealand area, but a shallow depression is advancing across the south Tasman. A tropical disturbance is centred in the Fiji group. Winds.—South-easterlies in parts of the northern half of the North Island, elsewhere north-easterlies or northerlies. A change to southerlies is probable in the south tomorrow; force, light to moderate, but freshening. Seas. —New Zealand waters, rather rough to rough north of East Cape, elsewhere slight to moderate; Eastern Tasman Sea, light to fresh north-east to northerly winds, turning later to southerlies in the south. Seas slight to moderate. s The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine and warm. A light shower fell later in the afternoon. 'Die evening was warm' with practically no wind. At one o’clock this morning the weather was calm and mild. The barometer readings for the past three mornings have been as follows:— This morning (steady) 30,0 ins. Thursday 30.10 ins. Wednesday 30.10 ins.
