THEFT OF MONEY FROM UNION
LABOURER COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 15. Holding that he had not the necessary powers to deal summarily with the case, the Magistrate (Mr J. H. Luxford) ordered depositions to be taken in a case in which Leslie Murray, aged 39, a labourer, was charged with the theft at Grassj r Camp, Nelson, on December 6, 1929, of £l3, the property of the New Zealand Workers’ Union, and also with the theft on or about November 30 of the same year' of £25, the property of the union. Murray pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
