SOUTHLAND GUN DOG CLUB
OFFICERS ELECTED AT ANNUAL MEETING
There was a good attendance at the annual general meeting of the Southland Gun Dog Club on Saturday night. In moving the adoption of the annual ’ report and balance-sheet the president, Mr P. Hennessey, remarked on the good financial position of the club and the excellent prospects for the year. During the social held after the meeting a presentation of a silver tea service was made to the secretary, Mr J. R. O’Brien, and trophies won at the Tuatapere sports on January 2 were also presented to the successful competitors. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr W. E. Hazlett; president, Mr P. Hennessey (reelected); vice-presidents, Messrs W. M. C. Denham, M.P., A. Fraser and S. Lindsay (re-elected), W. G. Clouston, J. J. Dobbs, W. Gardiner, G. F. Strang. J. R. Hanan, O. J. Howells and the president of the Southland Kennel Club; honorary secretary, Mr J. R. O’Brien (re-elected); committee, Messrs T. Pasco, R. Hislop, J. B. Pasco, W. Cavanagh, J. Reid,; N. Varcoe, H. Broad, L. McKenzie, W. Pay and G. Dennis (re-elected); M. Pasco, J. Leonard and J. G. Pasco; honorary veterinary surgeons, Messrs A. G. Brash and J. Danskin; honorary auditors Messrs J. B. Pasco and L. McKenzie (reelected).
