MOSLEY & SONS, “Riverslea,” Clydevale, to offer as above their annual surplus Romneys as follows:— 35—1-shear STUD ROMNEY RAMS including: 1 3-shear and 1 4-shear Rams (to be offered singly). 100—SHEARLING ROMNEY FLOCK RAMS (to be offered singly and in pairs). 100—CAST FOR AGE STUD BREEDING ROMNEY EWES, including “RIVERSLEA” 308 of 33 winner of innumerable championships. (To be offered in pens of 1,2 and 5 ewes). AUCTIONEER’S NOTE: This second annual Sale of "Riverslea” Romneys affords breeders a unique opportunity to acquire Romneys of the highest class at auction. “Riverslea” Romneys are renowned for their constitution, wool and pure Romney character, and being bred under natural conditions, shift anywhere to uphold and enhance the prestige of the breed. Romneys from this Stud have been sold to all parts of New Zealand and exported to North and South America and have given satisfaction at all times. Founded in 1918 the “Riverslea” Stud has enjoyed a noted series of successes for years past at all leading shows in the South Island, and at the 1934 Royal Show, had the distinction of gaining Ist and Champion and Reserve for Rams and Ist and Champion and Reserve Champion for Ewes. At the 1936 Royal Show at Christchurch “Riverslea” had the distinction of winning the 50 Guinea Gold Cup presented by Sir Wm. Perry for the best woolled Romney Ram in the Show. This sheep “Riverslea” 201 of 35 will be offered at sale. These outstanding successes, it may be added, have all been achieved by “Riverslea” bred sheep. Prizes won by Riverslea Romneys at all leading shows in Otago and Southland for the 1938 season are as follows: 6 Championships, 4 Reserves, 48 Firsts, 38 Seconds and 19 Third prizes.
