MOTORIST SENT TO PRISON
(United Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 7. In the Magistrate’s Court, Joseph Albert Churches, aged 35, a labourer, admitted intoxication while in charge of a car at Ellerslie on January 21 after making a round of the hotels. It was stated he had three previous convictions for the same type of offence, the last being in 1931. Accused was sentenced to a fortnight’s imprisonment and his licence was cancelled for two years.
